“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary."
I’m Stephanie Brands, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Since 2015, I have provided a number of therapeutic services to those dealing with challenging life experiences. I have experience in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings working with adolescents aged 12-17 and adults 18-99 years struggling with depression, anxiety, self harm, suicide, bipolar depression/mania, schizophrenia, domestic violence, ADHD, and anger. I have worked in inpatient detox and outpatient addictions programs with patients and families. I utilize a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in my groups and individual sessions and have a client-centered therapy approach.
As a therapist and social worker, I believe self determination is incredibly important, and my sessions often are composed of meeting my client's where they are and giving them tools they can utilize to succeed.
Client well-being is my number one priority. Therapy doesn't have to be daunting or scary, and my goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible while getting to the root causes of the concerns and symptoms you are struggling with.
